Brian teaches a variety of philosophy courses at SUNY Geneseo and St. John Fisher University (formerly College), most frequently on writing, logic, ethics, and Eastern thought. Regardless of subject matter, his courses emphasize three main themes:
- Rational, effective, and moral responses to disagreement and conflict;
- The value of multicultural perspectives;
- Enriching life through the lessons of philosophy.
